SABRENT Thunderbolt 3 2TB NVMe SSD Docking Station

Sabrent Thunderbolt 3 16TB Docking Station: Storage First, Dock Second

Sabrent turned heads when it announced a Thunderbolt 3 Docking station that came packed with 16TB of NVMe M.2 SSD storage along with multiple other ports in a compact package. After testing and teardown, I'm pleased to report it's a pretty awesome and value-rich total package, but I wish it was better able to sink heat.

SmallRig Made an Airbag for Your Camera

SmallRig will soon announce an airbag system for cameras called the AirGuard. The company says that the system, which is integrated into a camera cage, uses an accelerometer to detect a fall and automatically deploys an airbag to protect the camera.

How I Attached a Camera Remote to a Handheld Light Pole

I occasionally like to do some light painting with strobes. To make that easier, I ripped off the legs of an old light stand so that it is just a handheld pole with a light. I also wanted to be able to control my camera with a remote when holding the light so that I can operate my camera on a tripod and do everything without an assistant.

OM Digital OM System OM-1 Review

OM Digital OM-1 Review: The Best Micro Four Thirds Camera Ever Made

I’ve been an Olympus and Micro Four Thirds user since I purchased a used E-M5 in 2016. I love Olympus, and like many others was sad to hear the news when the company’s photo division came to an end. Since then, I have eagerly awaited the new company’s first camera. And now we have it: the OM System OM-1.

Why Digital Cameras Will All Die but Film Cameras Live On

Digital cameras are great -- the technology they are built upon is remarkable, underpinned by remarkably sophisticated designs. Not only that, but the pictures they acquire are of such astonishing quality that they make anything that went before pale in comparison. So why then do digital cameras have such (relatively) short lifespans compared to film cameras?

7artisans 60mm f/2.8 Macro II APS-C Review: A Good Lens for Its Price

The 7artisans 60mm f/2.8 II APS-C is a lens designed specifically for crop-frame mirrorless. Instead of just a ported mount, there’s no image circle wasted. The design itself is a big upgrade that makes the Mark I look like a weird prototype in comparison.

Apple Studio Display Review

Apple Studio Display Review: Accurate and Consistent, Pricey and Aged

I would describe Apple's Studio Display can be best summarized as a great-looking monitor that doesn't specialize in any one thing but manages to hit high notes in many areas instead. It's pretty bright and has accurate, consistent colors. But the display market is competitive, and many will be questioning its value proposition.
