SanDisk Announces Huge Capacity 128GB microSD Card

Yesterday, SanDisk unveiled the newest addition to its Secure Digital memory card lineup: a 128GB microSDXC card that effectively doubles the storage capabilities of the current generation of cards.

And while the practicality of that much storage on a microSD card isn't overly exciting for most photographers, there are certainly some scenarios where this will be beneficial.

Law Firms Lining Up to File Class Action Lawsuits Over the D600 Dust/Oil Issue

Just over a week ago, we reported on the news that a US law firm was collecting information from disgruntled Nikon D600 users for a potential class action lawsuit. Well, it turns out they're actually late to the game. Three days after that story broke, a few other law firms actually filed a class action suit against the Japanese camera giant.

Trying to keep itself in the high-end mobile phone race, Sony has announced a new flagship phone that manages to pack a great deal of camera technology into a very thin, waterproof package.

While Sony isn't exactly known for their smartphones, it's quite a different story when it comes to their camera technology. Thus, to make use of their consistently improving performance in the photography world, they've decided to bring to life the Sony Xperia Z2, capable of shooting 20.7MP photos and 4K video.

One Journey, Two Cameras: The Sony A7r and the Leica M Monochrom

I’ve not long been back from a trip which took myself and my family back to the UK via a few other places, this wasn’t a photography trip but I’ve included a few of my favourite images picked up along the way. The are more images along with a more extensive write-up on my blog here -- The Reluctant Tourist.

Using Body Painted Models to Create and Photograph a Fiat 500c Abarth

Editor's Note: This video is a tiny bit NSFW. All nudity has been censored, but the models are at times very scantily clad so you may want to wait until you're at home to watch it.

While The Body Issue of ESPN Magazine usually keeps the focus on bodies in a sporty sense, Fiat wanted to make an impression in its advertising pages as well.

Rumor: The Nikon D4s Will be Announced on February 25th

Alright, the rumor sites are giving this another shot. After getting the announcement date wrong the first time -- it seems that February 11th event was not related to the D4s at all -- Nikon Rumors is confidently reporting that the camera will get its official announcement on February 25th.

The Camera Store and Nick Devlin Test Out the Fuji X-T1 in the Field

If we had to name the most exciting camera of 2014 thus far, Fuji's X-T1 would probably get the nod (although the Sony a6000 is no slouch). Some call it the Nikon Df done right, others are saying it's the camera that will finally take the X-Series mainstream, but general opinion about this camera seems to be very good.

There's only one problem... many of those opinions come from people who haven't had a chance to use it yet. And since a spec sheet and press release can only say so much, The Camera Store and photographer Nick Devlin decided to go hands-on and take you in the field with this exciting new shooter.

We weren't able to send anyone all the way to CP+ this year, and some of the products and details emerging from the trade show have us a little sad about that.

Rumor: Samyang to Start Making AF Glass Under a New Logo Very Soon

Third-party lenses are on the rise, there's no denying that. Between Sigma kicking large amounts of booty with its impressive lineup and Tamron looking serious with the new 150-600mm lens it recently announced, competition for space in your camera bag is getting fierce.

And apparently it's about to get even fiercer, because rumor has it Samyang intends to step its game up as well.

50mm Tele Conversion Lens for the Fujifilm X100/S Spotted at CP+

According to Patrick over at Fuji Rumors, X100/s users will soon be able to extend their fixed lens' reach to 50mm (35mm equivalent).

Adorama Momentarily Lists the Nikon D4s, Sensor Specs Not in Line with Rumors

Well, February 11th came and went without so much as a peep about the D4s. It seems that invitation for a special Nikon event didn't have to do with the new flagship after all.

But have no fear, because earlier today, Adorama accidentally (or at least it seemed accidental) listed the yet-unannounced camera alongside some new specs that, at least according to the well-informed folks at Nikon Rumors, seem wrong...

Sony Takes the Bridge Camera Bar to New Heights with Crazy 63x Superzoom at CP+

Canon wasn't the only one to food our inbox last night, and not even the announcements we were most anxious for. Sony also made some exciting announcements, including a refresh to its Cybershot line that includes three new superzooms and two new point-and-shoots.

Oh, and we should probably mention that one of those superzooms is the world's first bridge camera to feature a 63x optical zoom lens.

Canon Announces the T5: An Entry-Level Rebel for the Budget Conscious

CP+ is underway, which means the gear announcements are about to start coming hard and fast... brace yourselves. It’s a Great Time to Buy Glass! Both Nikon and Fuji are Offering Steep Lens Rebates

If you're in the market for some new glass, now is the time to act. Not only is this the time of year that Nikon offers its annual "lens only" rebates -- where you can get steep discounts on lenses WITHOUT having to buy a DSLR -- but other companies are following suit. Most notably Fuji, who is apparently slaughtering Nikon in this discount battle.

Samyang Looks to Have Canceled Plans for a 50mm f/1.2

About a year ago, Samyang took to Facebook and confirmed that a 50mm f/1.2 was on the roadmap, and would quite possibly see the light of day sometime in 2014. Well, if you've been holding out for that release, hoping that a third-party 50mm f/1.2 option would arrive, you might have been waiting for nothing.

InMyBag: A Website for Showing Off Your Gear and Exacerbating Your G.A.S.

'What's in Your Bag' posts are popular on major photography websites. National Geographic's PROOF blog even does a unique version where they focus on those things that have meaning, but aren't necessarily gear.

But what about the rest of us? If you're not expecting a call from Nat Geo asking you to reveal the contents of your camera bag any time soon, the website InMyBag gives you a chance to share that with the world and pique your gear envy at the same time.

Sample Footage & Shooting Impressions: Panasonic’s 4K-Capable GH4

Panasonic is serious about the 4K-capable GH4 as both a video AND stills camera. But particularly in the stills category, a price tag that will likely push 2 grand and a sensor that is only Micro Four Thirds size makes for an uphill battle when it comes to convincing folks to jump on board.

Like we did last year, we'll give you a quick rundown of all the new models, which this year include two new 'professional' point-and-shoots, a couple of superzooms and a some upgraded rugged cameras.

Australian Website Lists Price of Sigma’s 50mm f/1.4 Otus Competitor at $1,350

We know Sigma's recently-announced 50mm f/1.4 Art Series lens is supposed to be good, great even. In fact, it's supposed to be so good that it competes on the same level as the ZEISS Otus that we've heard so much about (and may or may not be reviewing as I type this).

The question on everybody's mind, then, is "how much will this beast cost?" Thanks to an Australian website, we now have an idea.
