Magnum Photos is a prestigious international photographic cooperative that focuses on photojournalism. The organization is made up and owned by its members around the world. Every year, the company typically nominates one or two new photographers. This year, however, Magnum has nominated six new members: a record-breaking number.

It is no secret that Facebook has been hot on the trail of Snapchat. In 2013, the massive social network reportedly offered to buy the small Snapchat startup for three billion dollars. A new website, IsItNude.com, has set out on a mission to help identify whether or not photographs contain nudity. California-based algorithm company, Algorithmia, designed the custom code for a client, but you can use the above link to test it out for yourself. Polaroid’s Cube action camera presents an excellent option for adventurers on a budget. The Cube’s CMOS sensor can capture decent 1080p video at 30fps, along with 6MP still JPEG images. Now, the company has announced the Cube+: the next iteration of the action camera series that will be presented at CE Week 2015. Toy Company, Silverlit, has introduced the Nano Flacon DigiCam: an incredibly tiny RC helicopter with a built-in camera capable of photo capture and video recording. Ann S. Moore is one of the most powerful women in the world according to Forbes and Fortune Magazine. Leica officially announced their new full-frame Q series camera this morning. The beautifully compact unit features a 24-megapixel sensor and built-in Summilux 28mm f/1.7 lens. Designed for performance on the go, we got a chance to sit down with the Leica Q and get a better feeling for its aluminum and magnesium alloy constructed body. Does the Leica Q feel like $4k? Shooting flash photography with a wide open aperture on a bright summer day can feel almost impossible sometimes. You have a collection of beautiful shots that could use flash, but due to the sheer amount of light coming into your lens your flash units can’t keep up with the situation. You may be able to use an ND filter to cut down on the light, but your flash units will also have to compensate in the process. Now, professional lighting company, Priolite, has a solution they say will allow Pentax photographers to shoot Hot Sync flashes at speeds up to 1/8000th of a second.

Photographers can finally stop arguing over what to officially call the latest generation of interchangeable cameras that forgo the prisms of past DSLR brethren. Ilford, a company known for their high quality black and white photographic films, has announced that they will begin to manufacture once again their Harman Direct Positive Fiber Paper.

The paper had disappeared from the market in 2013 when the emulsion used to craft the paper had become no longer available due to a sale of one of Ilford’s Switzerland-based factories.
