The Sony A7s Gets Taken for a Spin at ISO 409,600

Sony announced the full-frame mirrorless A7s earlier this week. And while its 4K video capability was arguably the most touted feature, we were more intrigued by the 12-megapixel sensor that tops out at a ridiculous ISO of 409,600 ... almost half a million ISO ... in a mirrorless camera.

So, how does footage (and therefore images) look at 409,600 on the A7s? Well, Sony commissioned Den Lennie to show it off.

Gofor Envisions a World Where Drones are an On-Demand Service

It's only an idea, a thought experiment that is equal parts cool and terrifying from a privacy perspective, but the Gofor concept is definitely turning heads. Right now, getting into drone photography is pretty pricey, but Gofor imagines a world where you could rent one right from your smartphone.

Captivating TED Talk on the Unseen Worlds that Time-Lapse, Microscopic Imagery and Slow Motion Reveal

The intersection of Science, Technology and Art, at least according to renowned filmmaker and time-lapse photographer Louie Schwartzberg, is curiosity and wonder. And in the TED talk above, he makes the case for how few things pique that curiosity and inspire that wonder like the "hidden miracles of the natural world" that time-lapse, slow motion and microscopic imagery reveal.

Louie Schwartzberg on Smartphone Pics & How They Offer a Glimpse Into Your Soul

Funny Vine Compilation Captures 3 Months of Saturday Mornings with a 4-Year-Old

This father is exhausted... in a funny because it's true kind of way. Over the past three months, YouTube user and proud father of two, Bottlerocket, has been recording a 6-second Vine video every Saturday morning with his 4-year-old. Complete with annoyed look (it's put on folks, he loves his daughter), obnoxiously loud music and rowdy little girl, the Vine compilation above is something of an ode to exhausted parents everywhere.

Hotel Makes Creative Use of Stop-Motion in Funny ‘Swan Song’ Ad

The citizenM Hotel in Times Square needed a creative way to show potential guests that they were doing away with some of the more luxurious and useless hotel niceties in order to keep prices at as low as possible. So, the question becomes: how do you show people that they won't be paying extra for hoity-toity extras like towel swans?

Two Spectacular Photographs of a Volcanic Eruption as Seen from Space by Endeavour

In September and October of 1994, the space shuttle Endeavour was orbiting 115 nautical miles above Earth while the Kliuchevskoi Volcano was spewing ash and dust into the atmosphere at an alarming rate. Not in any position to do anything about it, the astronauts aboard the space shuttle did the only thing they could do... they took pictures.

Slow-Mo Video Takes Viral ‘Pucker’ Photos of Babies Tasting Lemons to Another Level

If you don't remember the photo series Pucker, then you might have been hiding under a rock last August because it exploded. An adorable series by photographers April Maciborka and David Wile, the photos featured babies trying lemons for the first time and reacting with everything from glee, to horror, to cute versions of the scrunched up faces most of us would make.

The series went viral -- even just on PetaPixel it attracted some 6.2 thousand shares -- but Maciborka and Wile weren't done yet. Today, they took Pucker into the realm of slow-motion video.

The Expendables 3 Promo Posters Feature Pointless Studio Lights that Do Nothing

Okay, it's probably safe to say that ONLY photography nerds and photo websites will notice this, but for those of us who fit into those two categories the posters below sit somewhere between amusing and annoying.

You see, the Expendables 3 promo posters revealed recently feature studio lights in the frame because, well, they give the photos a certain 'star studded' feel. The problem is, the lights are frequently pointless and sometimes look like they're lighting up something that is actually in shadow.

Collar Camera Video Captures a Cat Fight from the Cat’s Perspective

Editor's Note: Turn your volume way down before you click play. The video gets very loud very soon after it starts and we wouldn't want your boss knowing your watching cat videos at work... you're welcome.

There are a lot of POV videos out there of humans doing incredible stunts or getting into all sorts of scary trouble, but we don't really have much similar footage from the animal kingdom. Maybe it's because GoPro hasn't announced their Cat Fancy mount (yet?).

Fortunately, for those who do want to see what trouble their feline friends get into, there's something called a collar camera. And the video above was captured on just such a device. It's a very literal cat fight captured from the cat's point of view.
