You Must Now Be 18 Years Old To Create a New Flickr Account

Flickr has made some rather dramatic changes to the photo-sharing site in response to new safety standards put in place by the United Kingdom. While some of the new rules only affect citizens of the UK, the website is now acting like an adult website: in order to create an account, new users must be 18 years of age or older.

The DJI Osmo Pocket Cannot Be Stopped

Fujifilm Appears First to Reveal Higher Prices Due to New 15% Tariffs

Three Fujifilm cameras are displayed with red upward arrows in the background, suggesting growth or advancement; the central camera is larger and prominently featured.

Thanks to a new "massive" deal, camera companies will be subject to a new higher tariff starting on August 1. And because tariffs are import taxes, those prices will largely fall on the consumer if a company can't absord additional cost. Fujifilm appears to be the first of the camera manufacturers to inform dealers and retailers of a price increase.

Canon Says Smartphones Didn’t Destroy the Entry-Level Market and Could Help It Grow Again

Although improving smartphone image quality has dramatically reduced the size of the entry-level camera market, Canon believes that this same, shrinking market can be revitalized by convincing a generation of mobile photographers they can create better photos and videos with a traditional camera. If Canon has its way, the entry-level market is not just alive, but also has genuine potential for growth.

A Landscape Photographer’s Dilemma: Should I Capture Locations or Unique Compositions?

It’s 7:30 PM. Sunset begins in Marblehead and a full moon starts to rise, right over the cast iron skeletal structured lighthouse, built in 1896. I’m standing next to several other photographers at Fort Sewall -- a great vantage point to view the lighthouse from -- and we all have our lenses pointed in exactly the same direction. Same spot. Same composition.

Sony RX1R III Pre-Orders Are Strong Despite High Asking Price

A Sony RX1R III camera is shown on a black background, with the text "RX1 R III" beside it. The "R" and Roman numeral "III" are in red, highlighting the camera model.

The online discourse surrounding the Sony RX1R III has been up and down. When Sony surprise announced it 10 days ago, the Internet's immediate response was jubilant. But then, not long after, the asking price of $5,100 sank in. The whiplash was hard and fast, leading many to believe it wasn't going to sell well. That doesn't appear to be the case at all.
