Not only is this the time of year that Nikon offers its annual "lens only" rebates -- where you can get steep discounts on lenses WITHOUT having to buy a DSLR -- but other companies are following suit. Most notably Fuji, who is apparently slaughtering Nikon in this discount battle.
Don't lie, you saw this one coming. Adobe has already beaten the proverbial horse bloody when it comes to their Photoshop Photography Program being extended again and again and again... and again.
And yet, here they are doing it again, this time once more allowing anybody in the US (regardless of whether or not you own a previous license or not) to get the special bundle for only $10/month on an annual basis.
There are a few of big deals worth mentioning today that should make a lot of people happy, whether they're looking to purchase a new camera, new lens or new software. And, since we listed them in that order, that's the order we'll share them in.
Well, your last chance to order something online and get it in time for Christmas pretty much came and went already, and yet us lazy PetaPixel editors (okay, not us, just me) have yet to put together a holiday gift guide. That deal was supposed to end on December 2nd but, thanks to widespread positive response from photographers, they've decided to extend the deadline to December 8th!
When Adobe officially announced its special Creative Cloud plan/bundle for photographers, there was a catch: you had to own Photoshop CS3 or above in order to qualify for the special $10/month pricing. Well, no more. For a limited time, Adobe is lifting that restriction and making the special bundle available for everyone.

The Internet was abuzz yesterday due to a secret meeting at Adobe's offices between the head honchos of Microsoft (Steve Ballmer) and Adobe (Shantanu Narayen). The New York Times reports:
The meeting, which lasted more than an hour, covered a number of topics, but one of the main thrusts of the discussion was Apple and its control of the mobile phone market and how the two companies could team up in the battle against Apple. A possible acquisition of Adobe by Microsoft were among the options.
Whoa. Acquisition. That's a pretty deal. So big, in fact, that the rumor drove Adobe's stock price up 11.5% yesterday, adding about $1.5 billion to their market cap.
