As the rumor mills continue to churn out their dose of information, more and more information on Canon’s successor to the 7D is coming to light. Earlier rumors have pointed to a brand new, “revolutionary” sensor being in this impending beast, but new rumors have pointed out even more exciting use for those holding out, specifically, that the 7D replacement is going to have “a lot of 1D X” in it.

There are plenty of reliable rumors from trusted sources claiming that the 7D Mark II (if that's even what it'll be called) will finally be arriving sometime in early September, but those rumors are now being bolstered by another piece of news.

The Canon 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM lens first debuted in 1998... 1998! In November that'll be sixteen years on the market without a replacement, and while lenses aren't typically replaced as frequently as camera bodies, hope that Canon would manufacture a 'sequel' to the trusty old lens still runs strong.

Well, those hopeful hearts now have something to rejoice about, because the Canon Rumors has received a concrete tip that the 100-400mm followup will indeed be arriving alongside the 7D Mark II just in time for Photokina in September.

The desire for more info and leaks about Canon's upcoming EOS 7D Mark II (possibly not called that) is strong, and the image above is a good case in point. Spotted by a Northlight Images reader, the camera circled in red is always seen at the same spot on the pitch and is always covered up, despite the fact that every other camera is uncovered.

If you've been following the most recent rumors regarding the long-awaited Canon APS-C flagship 7D Mark II, you know that the latest news is that Canon has some fancy new sensor technology in the works, and that it's supposed to re-establish Canon as an imaging leader.

Photographer Stephen Oachs over at Aperture Academy caused quite a stir yesterday after sharing some photographs he took of a Japanese photographer he spotted in Kenya. You may have heard that the Canon 5D Mark II has been used to film an episode of "House" on FOX. Now NBC is using a 7D for an upcoming Christmas episode of "Community". On Thursday, Dec. 9th, 2010, they're going old school and doing a Rudolph-esque claymation episode.
