Pelican Imagings Lytro style Smartphone Sensor to Arrive in 2014 pelicancameraEarlier this week, we reported that Nokia has invested in Pelican Imaging, a company that’s building a 16-camera module that offers Lytro-style shoot-first-focus-later features.

Pelican’s CEO has now revealed that the first smartphone to feature Pelican technology will be appearing sometime in 2014. In addition to refocusing, the new camera would have less noise in low light and intelligent digital image stabilization.

Ohio-based cameraman Terry Cline found out the dangers of statues the hard way this past weekend. While capturing aerial imagery, Cline got his flying camera stuck in the arms of a statue 100 feet above the ground.

Pricing of Zeiss New Touit Mirrorless Lenses Revealed zeisstouitpriceEarlier this week, we reported that Zeiss had given its new mirrorless camera lens family the name “Touit,” which is the name of a type of Latin American parrot.

Today, pricing information for the two initial lenses were revealed thanks to pre-order pages put up by the camera store Unique Photo. The 12mm f/2.8 wide angle lens will have a price tag of $1,250 and the 32mm f/1.8 “normal lens” will have a price tag of $900.

The lenses will be offered in both Fujifilm X and Sony E mounts.
