The third of this month marked two years since I took my first foray into the Sony Alpha Ecosystem. I thought it would be a good idea to look back to see how I’m liking the system and if my views have changed since my 12 month a7 III review.

DxOMark just crowned the sensor in the 5D Mark IV the best Canon sensor they have ever tested. Unfortunately, even Canon's top performer still falls far short of the top sensors from Nikon and Sony.

The Canon 7D Mark II has kind of stolen many of the headlines away from a different camera that was released right around the same time: the Nikon D750. A full-frame shooter that boasts an impressive sensor, DPReview recently took the 750 out to Seattle's Museum of Flight for a very informative, in-depth set of real-world tests that they've compiled into the 19-minute video review above.
When cameras get put through a review, it’s often done at a pixel-peeping level in a studio, where the lighting is consistent across the board and variables are few and far between. This is NOT one of those reviews.
When it came time to review Canon's new APS-C flagship, the 7D Mark II, DPReview reached out to professional wildlife photographer Adam Jones and asked him to take the camera out into the wild... literally.
One of the most exciting things about capturing high resolution video with the Panasonic LX100 is the ability to extract high resolution still photos from it. Video grabbing is not a new thing, but in standard definition you were looking at stills measuring a third of a Megapixel, and even in Full HD you'd only enjoy 2 Megapixels. But with 4k video you can make 8 Megapixel grabs which is much more useful.

Beaches, babes, sun and surf. It's summer, and that equals one thing: you can't take your precious DSLR to the beach. Well, not unless you want to gamble on a costly repair bill after butterfingers drops it in the sand. The beach is a time for relaxation, not being an overly protective nanny of the expensive camera that mom won't let you get wet.
Photography of your family while you ride the waves and soak up the sun should be carefree, and for that you'll be wanting a tough and waterproof camera. One that not only stands up to day-to-day abuses, but that you can hand off to your little ones worry free so they can go do what they do best and take selfies in the surf: the TG-850 is that camera.

It seems as though with each passing day the eagerly anticipated and highly touted Fujifilm X-T1 is garnering more and more attention. The Fujifilm Instax Mini 90 might just be that unusually sexy gem that will intrigue the masses and add a dash or two of fun into your photography. A camera that is going to have clients talking and friends gawking.
It seems the Nikon engineers had some tricks up their sleeves when they put the D4 sensor inside the new Nikon Df, because while the sensor earned identical scores to the D4 in almost every category when DxOMark put it through its paces, the Df actually BEAT the D4 in the "low-light ISO" category.
But more than that, it beat EVERYBODY in that category, narrowly edging out the previous champion D3s to claim the number one low-light spot among DxOMark's rankings.
We already know that buying 'new' camera gear online is no guarantee that you're actually getting something new. Even when the source seems to be trustworthy (ala Amazon), you just never know.
