In an effort to prove to myself, my family, and my friends that I am not nuts to lug 6+ pounds of medium format camera gear up the mountainside I conducted my own tests over the last few weeks.

Fotodiox is adding a new piece of gear to its impressive lineup of adapters and accessories. It’s called the Vizelex ND Throttle, and it’s a Sony E-mount to Canon EF-mount adapter that comes with a variable ND filter that’s capable of ND2 all the way up to ND10 (10-stop difference) built right in.

The basic rules of composition apply to almost every visual art there is, be it photography, painting or graphic design. Local Alaska photographer Mark Osborne found a nasty surprise waiting for him in the mail a few days ago. Among the bills and junk mail was sitting a political attack ad aimed at a friend of his running for the State of Alaska House of Representatives, and illustrating the ad was an screen grab from a video taken by Mark himself.

With the photograph above, titled "Stinger in the Sun," 9-year-old Carlos Perez Naval from Spain recently claimed the title of Young Wildlife Photographer of the Year. He beat out kids almost twice his age, and has earned himself the kind of recognition and praise many wildlife photographers can only hope for.

There's no doubt on the rumor mill that Canon is planning to release several cameras in 2015, including some that might be quite revolutionary, but there is some doubt about who will be making the sensors in those cameras.
