The Best Used Digital Cameras to Buy in 2024

While there are many advantages to buying a brand new camera -- including a manufacturer warranty and, well, the fact that it’s never been used by anyone else -- there are likewise a plethora of reasons to buy cameras on the used market.

Canon is Already Testing an EOS ‘R5s’ with 90MP Sensor: Report

The highest resolution Canon cameras ever released are still the 5Ds and 5DsR DSLRs, but that may change in the not-so-distant future. Reports indicate that Canon already has some prototypes of an EOS 'R5s' full-frame mirrorless camera out in the wild, and that this camera could sport a whopping 90MP image sensor.

Canon Plans to Debut 80MP+ EOS R Camera in Early 2020: Report

Rumors for an ultra-high resolution Canon full-frame mirrorless camera are heating up. 5DS Handed Highest DxOMark Score for a Canon, But Still Trails Nikon and Sony

DxOMark published its sensor test scores for the 50.6-megapixel Canon 5DS and 5DS R DSLRs today, and the news is both good and bad for Canon shooters. My Camera Switch from Canon to Nikon, and Then Back Again

I love Canon cameras. I really do. And it was with great regret that I moved away from Canon last year after being an EOS system user my entire life. I started when I was 5 years old on my father's EOS 300 film cameras and have then enjoyed every camera up to and including the 5D Mark III, but there was a problem.

Teardown: A Look at the Guts of the Canon 5DS

When my company LensRentals first got the first Canon 5Ds and 5DSR cameras in stock, we immediately started screaming that we wanted to take one apart. It turns out we received enough 5Ds cameras to let us have a day with one to do just that. Of course, we don't expect to find out anything amazing and revealing. We expect it will look pretty much like the Canon 5DIII and 7DII on the inside. But hey, you never know. Plus we'll be repairing these soon enough, so we might as well find our way around now.

Canon 5DS and 5DS R Initial Resolution Tests

Like everybody else, we at LensRentals were pretty excited to get our hands on Canon's new 5DS and 5DS R. There are already a lot of hands-on articles about the cameras that probably have told you more than you need to know to make your purchase decision. Of course, for most of the Canon shooters who read this blog, the purchase decision was just which place you want to buy it from.

Review: Canon 5DS and 5DS R — The Nifty Fifties?

It’d be easy to dismiss the new Canon 5DS and 5DS R as 5D Mark III DSLRs with 50 megapixel sensors, but that’s exactly what they are.

But there are some minor, and yet fundamental, differences that separate the three versions of the 5D, to position each model for different photographers. I’ve had the opportunity to handle pre-production units of the two new models to compare with my 5D Markk III to see how well they perform…

MELVILLE, N.Y., March 26, 2015 – A 37-year-old man has criticized Canon’s latest DSLR, the 5DS, for not having enough pixels, even though it has more pixels than any other DSLR in history and has not even been released yet.
