Considering that the Sony A6000 costs less than the Nikon D5300, and 1/3 of the cost of a Sony A7, I’d say that for anyone interested, this camera is a winner.

Both the a6300 and a6500 are also very strong (albeit more expensive) models, but for those looking for an entry-level mirrorless camera, the a6000 remains one of the best.

There's no posing about this, it's a functional camera and Sony designed it function first, and the viewfinder is a great sign of that, but the overall design of the camera shows that too.

It has taken everything good about this camera and added a few extra bells and whistles to create a compact and efficient image taking machine. Though it looks like a NEX in almost every sense, Sony has renamed it Alpha to simplify their MILC line-up, hence the ‘a’ in the name.

It's easy to fall into the trap of discounting interchangeable-lens cameras as subpar to their DSLR counterparts, and certainly the early generations perhaps focused more on affordability and size than they did image quality.
