Adobe Is Bringing Licensed Music to Premiere Mobile

Adobe Premiere mobile, which recently launched on Android after releasing last year on iOS, will soon include music from Universal Music Group (UMG) and Warner Music Group (WMG).
“Music has the power to turn an everyday moment into an unforgettable story. It’s the beat behind a viral trend, the track to a favorite memory, and the spark that inspires you to pick up your phone and start creating. For millions of you, inspiration starts with music,” Adobe’s Mike Polner writes.
Polner says that Adobe is working directly with Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group to bring fully licensed music clips from leading, famous artists directly into Adobe Premiere mobile on iOS and Android. Adobe is confident that with leading music, Premiere users will be able to create even better videos more easily inside Premiere, which remains a free app on mobile.
“Music has always been a powerful way for people to express themselves and connect with others. By bringing licensed music from UMG artists into Adobe Premiere mobile, we’re giving creators new ways to build their stories around the songs they love for the first time, while helping our artists and songwriters reach new audiences,” says Bryan Stone, SVP, Business Development at Universal Music Group.

“The way people experience and engage with music extends far beyond traditional listening platforms,” adds Rachel Scarpati, VP, Digital Strategy and Business Development, WMG. “Our partnership with Adobe Premiere mobile integrates WMG’s catalog directly into the creative process, opening up new possibilities for creative expression and deeper fan engagement.”
Premiere mobile users will be able to browse, search, and preview trending music, filter by genre and duration, bookmark favorites, and explore curated collections. Licensed music clips will be available up to 60 seconds, and Adobe is developing new music-friendly video templates for its mobile video editing app.
“You can also take advantage of Premiere mobile’s powerful editing capabilities, including professional-quality video tools, studio-quality audio tools like Enhance Audio to reduce distracting background noise and Adobe Firefly-powered AI features to generate unique creative assets,” Adobe adds.

Music from UMG and WMG, which is “coming soon” to Premiere Mobile, will be licensed only for personal, non-commercial use. Those who require music for commercial-friendly video projects can stick with Adobe Stock Audio or create new music themselves.
Adobe Premiere mobile is available for free on iOS and Android.
