Sony Debuts New Action Cam Mount… For Your Dog

Sony clearly felt there was a gap in the action cam mount market that needed filling. And so, in addition to providing mounts for everything from surfers to scuba divers, Sony Japan had just debuted an action cam mount for man’s best friend.

The AKA-DM1 harness will go on sale in Japan on April 26th for ¥5,250 (or about $54) and is meant to fit dogs over 33 pounds whose belly circumference measures between 50 and 80 cm. It will allow you to mount Sony’s GoPro competitor to Fido’s back so you can get a dog’s-eye-view of your adventures together.

For now the harness is only debuting in Japan, but there’s no reason to believe it won’t expand further. There have to be at least a few action-sports photographers or adventurers who like to bring their dogs with them when they do something crazy. Now they’ll be able to get yet another angle on the action.

Check out the AKA-DM1’s product page on the Sony Japan website for more info.

If it weren’t enough that people are so infatuated with their pets and themselves, now they can enlist their dogs to be surrogates for narcissism.

I always wanted to do this with my dog, just because she was so small, that the photos would be interesting because of the extreme low angle. But then she died :(

This is so cool and affordable! My friends that dogsled will like this to get a dogs view of the trail. I want one when it is available in the U.S.

Why did they shave this husky? I have two sibes and you do NOT shave them, their coat helps them stay warm in the cold and cool in the heat….and helps protect them from pesky fly’s.
