How in the world do you capture a photograph like the one above? Or any of the ones below for that matter? How do you deal with temperatures that run in the negative 50s Celsius, at an altitude where any real camera would likely mean breaking your skydiving videographer's neck, and still deliver great shots of an incredible feat of skydiving?

Well, it took a year and a half of preparation and the challenges were seemingly never-ending, but photographer Dom Daher figured it out, and he was kind enough to share his photos and some of what he learned with us.

FLIR recently decided to show off some of its latest camera technology in the best possible way: with some help from a Formula 1 car. FLIR teamed up with Red Bull Racing to film its RB8 F1 car searing the pavement at the TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands using their FLIR X6580sc alongside a number of other cameras.

The MōVI freefly systems are very expensive, there's no denying that. But when you see this behind the scenes video and the footage that the Red Bull Media House was able to capture with it while the camera man launched off massive jumps and flew through the air on skis, you'll never wonder whether or not it's worth it again.

During Felix Baumgartner's record-breaking Stratos jump from 128,100 feet above the Earth, he was packing a total of seven GoPro Hero2's on his person. Red Bull has been slow to release all the footage from the jump and a couple of days ago we found out why -- it seems they were saving it for the short film "Red Bull Stratos -- The Full Story."

It's hump day, and what better way to start the second half of the week than with a little bit of good old fashioned GoPro insanity... well, GoPro and Red Bull, which is a match made in action camera heaven.

Yesterday was the one year anniversary of Austrian daredevil Felix Baumgartner's insane Red Bull Stratos skydive from the edge of space. As the whole world watched, Baumgartner plummeted towards Earth from a mind-blowing 128,100 feet, ultimately landing safely.

The man free fell for a total of four minutes and twenty-two seconds, and if you want to watch the whole inspirational/terrifying experience from his point of view, now you can.

Red Bull has an appreciation for the potential of mixing photography with death-defying stunts. If you need an example, look no further than some of the Red Bull Illume projects we've covered in the past.

But Red Bull's most recent foray into photography didn't have to do with epic light painting or expensive gear: instead, the company teamed up with three top U.K. Instagrammers to document the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series in stop motion.

Photographer Ray Demski recently teamed up with climber Alex Luger to shoot a project he's dubbed "Ice Nights." Shot entirely at night using several powerful flash units and a medium format camera, the shoot looked to take ice climbing photography to a whole new level.

About a week ago, Red Bull Illume and Snap! Orlando revealed a collaboration they were working on called "Motion to Light," in which they paired the fluid motion of certain sports with light painting. Part one used photographer Patrick Rochon and a team of wakeboarders to capture some stunning pics. Now a week later, we have part two. And the sport of choice? Paramotoring.

To promote this year's edition of its sports photography competition, Red Bull Illume is sending out a pretty slick promo. It's simply a USB drive loaded with a press media kit, but the presentation is so clever that we thought we'd share it with you (perhaps you can do something similar to promote your own photography business).

Next month a project called Red Bull Stratos will attempt to set a new world record for highest free-fall skydive in history. Skydiver Felix Baumgartner will leap from 120,000 ft (36,600m or 22.7 miles), breaking Joseph Kittinger's record of 102,800 ft set in 1960.
