If your priority is optical performance (and value), you will be delighted by this lens, but if your priority is to travel light, well, have you considered the Viltrox AF 50mm F2?

Adding teleconverter compatibility to the Sony FE 100mm F2.8 Macro GM OSS assures it a very unique status among macro lenses on the platform [...]
The Sigma 20-200mm F3.5-6.3 DG | CONTEMPORARY is an interesting alternative to the Tamron 28-200mm for those who find 28mm just not wide enough. It’s 10x zoom range allows you to capture everything from true wide angle to telephoto shots in one compact package.
I’ve reviewed dozens of macro lenses over the years, and I can say with confidence that the Sony FE 100mm F2.8 Macro GM OSS is the best of them all.
The Sigma 35mm F1.2 DG II | ART is a treat. It definitely shows that extra layer of polish that often only happens in the second generation of a lens.
There are those for whom size and weight is a critical factor, and others who want maximum performance at all costs. The 135 ART is clearly a lens for the latter crowd.
The Sigma 12mm F1.4 DC | Contemporary seems positioned to go right at first party lenses from Fuji or Sony, and that is where this lens will be more competitive as a value proposition.
The Sigma 200mm F2 DG OS | SPORT is a complete package. This is definitely a statement lens for Sigma, showing that they are capable of engineering lenses that are as good or better than anything first party lens makers can produce.
I think the DJI has done something pretty impressive here in giving us not necessarily an action camera, but really a content creation camera that doesn't have a whole lot of compromises built into it.
The single biggest reason to choose Prima 85mm is the compact size and weight. I can’t think of a better 85mm optically that comes in this small of a package.
I certainly expected a G2 version of the 17-28mm that would look and handle much like this lens, but I didn’t expect the expanded zoom range.
The X-Half is another Fuji camera that may appeal to those who don’t traditionally like cameras, or who even might think that their phone camera is too technically perfect.
Sigma has done a brilliant job of updating a cult classic for the mirrorless era. The Sigma 17-40mm F1.8 DC | ART is improved in basically every fact over the 18-35mm F1.8 that I reviewed on Canon EF more than a decade ago.
The Aurora remains the cheapest option, but I’d take the Viltrox Pro AF 85mm F1.4 every day of the week. It goes head to head with the Sigma and comes out looking pretty solid [...]
I was very intrigued when I first saw this lens the day that it debuted at CP+, and now that I’ve spent more time with it, I remain impressed by what emerged from unexpected partnership between South Korean and German optical companies.
I consider the Nikon Z5II to be a remarkable success as a camera. I often find reviewing cameras in this class fairly frustrating, as you can see the potential of the camera being intentionally held back by the manufacturer.
I love this addition to either Sony E or Leica L, however, as it provides a more flexible yet still high performing alternative to long telephoto primes.
It manages to do something that no zoom lens has done before (on full frame) and has managed to do it in a very livable kind of way.
So my conclusion is this: this once again is a great combo of build, autofocus, and optical performance, and it's at an amazing price.
The Sony 35mm F1.4 GM is a still a lovely choice if you want both high performing and compact, but the LAB 35mm is the new champ if you want that next level F1.2 goodness. It can produce brilliant images at all apertures [...] and won’t break the bank.
The Sony FE 16mm F1.8 G will make you wonder why carrying a larger lens is necessary, as it delivers great looking images and is generally a delight to carry and use.
Lenses like the Sony FE 400-800mm F6.3-8 G OSS are going to be completely wasted on a large swatch of the photography world but will immediately send a certain subset to place a preorder as quickly as possible.
I recognize that LAB 135Z will be too big and heavy for some potential buyers, but [y]ou will find an absolutely stunning lens that will produces images that are richer, sharper, and more compelling that what you can get with just about anything else in your bag.
This is a great walkaround lens, perfect for capturing the varied moments that life brings.
