- PetaPixel 9.5/10
Optically, this lens is unrivalled right now, with excellent sharpness and a unique look to sports compositions thanks to the shallow depth of field and beautiful bokeh.
-
With the existence of the Sony 50-150mm F2 GM lens, this Sigma glass has some tight competition. But when paired with a capable body and used in the right context, it’s one of the most impressive pieces of glass available today.
-
The Sigma 200mm F2 DG OS Sports is a niche lens, but one that delivers outstanding results. Its bright aperture and exceptional image quality make it a tempting choice for indoor sports, low-light events and long-distance portraiture.
-
The Sigma 200mm F2 DG OS Sports Lens's size, weight, and expense are quickly forgotten during image and video review. Perhaps Sigma’s sharpest lens at the widest aperture ever, the 200mm F2 DG OS Sports Lens produces exceptionally high image quality.
-
The Sigma 200mm F2 DG OS | SPORT is a complete package. This is definitely a statement lens for Sigma, showing that they are capable of engineering lenses that are as good or better than anything first party lens makers can produce.
-
It has top-of-the-range build quality and stellar optics as well. So, if you are a pro who wants their work to stand out from the crowd, then this thing could be a dream come true.
-
After adjusting for inflation that amount of money would mean much higher values meanwhile Sigma offers you an excellent and optically more complex lens for very reasonable sum of money.
-
This lens is a performer.
-
Sigma continue firing on all cylinders and here we have another very fine lens. It offers an alternative to the ubiquitous 70-200mm f/2.8 zooms with its significantly faster (by 1 stop) f/2 aperture and glorious bokeh.
-
6.5-stop optical image stabilization for if and when you need it. Sure, this Sigma is a weighty lens with hefty price tag but it’s well worth it on both counts.
-
The Sigma 200mm F2 DG OS Sports is a stunner, both in terms of the images it captures and the speed and accuracy with which it focuses. And while it's more expensive than pro zooms at $3,299, it leaves nothing to be desired.
- Photography News 91/100
The Sigma 200mm f/2 DG OS Sports is a specialist’s dream that offers separation, contrast and sharpness in a way no zoom quite can. This is not a do-everything lens, but in the right hands it’s capable of sublime images and footage that nothing else can quite replicate.
-
[T]his lens really has the unique ability to play both fields with high performance sport shooting and impressive portraits with exceptional compression and bokeh.
-
I think you'll love it too.
-
In terms of image quality, which is the most important thing with any lens, this is sublime.
-
[T]his is a recommended lens to have in your camera bag.
-
Getting fast aperture on this considering the size of it is very compact for a 200mm f/2 in 2025.
-
It does deliver beautiful excellent optically results but this focal length makes it very limiting in all those situations and it is not a versatile lens.
-
The Sigma 200mm f/2 DG OS Sports is about giving you the most ridiculous bokeh-licious shots that you've ever taken and won't ever be the only lens in your bag.
