Reviewer Consensus

Strong

The Rokinon 14-24mm f/2.8 AF is a remarkably compact and lightweight ultra-wide zoom that offers excellent center sharpness and practical features like a standard filter thread. While it relies heavily on in-camera corrections to manage significant distortion and vignetting, it remains a highly capable and portable choice for landscape and urban photographers.

I was very intrigued when I first saw this lens the day that it debuted at CP+, and now that I’ve spent more time with it, I remain impressed by what emerged from unexpected partnership between South Korean and German optical companies.

I am very glad Samyang found its own way and presented their own, original approach to the 14-24 mm. It seems the last thing the photographic market needs is another heavy, big, and expensive model with a huge convex front element that makes it impossible to use normal filters.

  • Digital Camera World

All in all, this ultra-wide zoom is particularly versatile and even though it relies heavily on in-camera corrections (as do many other recent lenses), the end results can be deeply satisfying. The Schneider-Kreuznach LK Samyang AF 14-24mm f/2.8 really took me by surprise.

  • Fstoppers

The LK Samyang/Rokinon 14-24mm f/2.8 is unique ultra-wide angle zoom lens and was definitely a pleasant surprise. A different range that did not come in a huge and bulky form yet offers really good sharpness.
