I said it before and I’ll say it again: the Panasonic Lumix GX7 is a very satisfying and capable system camera that will delight most enthusiasts.

I don't know folks, I think the Panasonic Lumix GX7 is a real winner, but the only thing I couldn't find useful on it, I never found a way to get that viewfinder to be anything other than, I don't know, a fun talking point.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX7 is the best Panasonic compact system camera to date, and one of the best interchangeable lens cameras that we've ever reviewed.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX7 is a mirrorless camera that delivers excellent images, but it doesn't quite earn Editors' Choice honors.

Instead, the GX7 is a camera you have to use to appreciate, to feel how it disappears in your hands, responds to your intent swiftly and gets as little as possible in your way - and you get lush images in the end with impressively low image noise.

There are a few other minor nitpicks such as a little slower than expected burst mode and other such things, but by and large the GX7 is a truly excellent camera.

I found the GX7 to be the best Panasonic Micro 4/3 made to date. Nice build, nice size, nice weight, great EVF that tilts up and down for more versatility and the touch screen LCD with all of the modern speed you can ask for.

  • Pocket-lint

In true Panasonic fashion the GX7 ticks plenty of boxes. But beyond feeling solely functional, this Lumix has soul too; it successfully flirts with the current design trends and pulls it off. It feels luxury, it feels exciting and it definitely feels worthy of the hype.

The 16 megapixel Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX7 arguably packs in all that anyone would want from a premium level system camera - apart from an APS-C sized sensor. So if you're hankering after one of those for closest to DSLR quality without actually being a DSLR, then look elsewhere.

So while it’s not quite strong enough to warrant another five-star review, the GX7 is yet another superb addition to the Lumix G family.

The GX7 truly delivers. We cannot say it has the best image-quality but is certainly at the level where it only matters for large prints. Noise, color, WB are all good and metering is outstanding.

It is a beautiful camera; it is one of the better looking Panasonic cameras out there, but that doesn't justify the fact that it does have some serious deal breakers.

  • Sans Mirror

The GX7 is the smallest of the "most competent" m4/3 cameras to date. So if small size is something you're looking for, look no further.

I'm rather fond of the Micro 4/3 format and this camera; it's too big to pocket, but in other ways just about ideal for a small high-quality travel camera.

So when you add that into this small tiny package, yet another reason why this is the perfect all-around camera, especially if you want to get rid of the big and bulky DSLRs.
