Strong

The Fujifilm X-Pro1 is a premium mirrorless camera that delivers class-leading image quality and a tactile, rangefinder-inspired shooting experience. While it offers excellent color reproduction and a unique hybrid viewfinder, the system is held back by sluggish autofocus performance and a dated, slow menu interface.

It’s well-built, functional and a joy to use, and even with focusing issues is thoroughly deserving of a Cameralabs Highly Recommended award.

  • The Verge 8/10

The Fujifilm X-Pro1 does almost everything right: it’s a beautiful (if enormous) camera, it takes great pictures and video, and once you take the time to learn its controls and systems it’s as capable a shooter as I’ve tested.

Right now, switching to the X system is beyond my budget, but if I had the money, I would seriously consider putting the X-Pro1 alongside my X100s and OM-D E-M5 for my work and personal projects as a photographer because it perfectly synthesizes how I want to work: portable [...]

Careful, deliberate shooters will love it. Rushed, spontaneous shooters won't like it as much. Action and really fast shooters won't like it all.

The X-Pro1 is probably the best camera ever introduced for actual photographers, as opposed to computer hobbyists or vidiots, in years. The Nikon D800 and Canon 5D Mark III are simply more of the same old thing, while the X-Pro1 is uniquely excellent.

Yes, you get the best mirrorless camera on the market for your money, but you still have to get lenses, and you just don’t get the Flexibility that a DSLR offers.

So I have in no way sponsored by Fuji, I really am have nothing to gain but necessarily by singing their praises, but I can say that as a tool it's really really fantastic. It's really producing some beautiful results and I can't wait to even use it more.

In fact, I would say that up to around 700, maybe 800 if it was in really, really nice condition, would be the upper limit of what I'd be paying for one of these.

There is something special about this camera, it really does feel like a special little machine, and it may be the most successful of the Fuji's that I've tried overall for integrating the qualities of film and digital and feeling like a film camera in operation.
