In a video released earlier today, Nikon Asia decided to peel away the outer shell of its glass and show you, revealing the technology that makes a Nikkor Lens a Nikkor.

The five-minute video details a number of features and technologies used in Nikkor glass, from the signature vibration reduction to the silent wave motor that makes for smooth and quiet autofocus. The last half of the video is dedicated to the glass itself, which is full of technological tidbits that often go unnoticed but make a huge difference nonetheless.
