A Photographer’s Mission to Save the Ocean Begins With Powerful Images

National Geographic photographer Brian Skerry has spent decades diving around the globe, telling the stories of the world's oceans. For his latest projects, years in the making, he has been much closer to home, documenting the unprecedented -- and deadly -- changes happening in the Gulf of Maine, the waters Skerry grew up visiting as a child on Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

Photographing Compelling Urban Scenes With Martin Lindner

Martin Lindner is a German photographer and Adobe Lightroom Ambassador known for capturing captivating images with unique perspectives in urban environments. Lindner’s use of shapes, patterns, symmetry, and leading lines create images that ask his viewers to use their imaginations to decipher the story being told in the frame.

Photographing the 2024 Republican National Convention

I have been covering the American Political Convention since 2004 and it’s hard for me to believe that it has been 20 years since I photographed my first RNC in New York City.

From TikTok to Minefields: Capturing the Unexpected Reality of Iraq’s Women Deminers

As I set up my makeshift studio in the Mines Advisory Group training base in Kurdistan, Iraq, I expected to photograph somber, conservative Yazidi women whose culture was shrouded in mystery and bizarre rumors. Instead, I found myself directing a TikTok-inspired pose from a Yazidi woman in full traditional dress, complete with ornate headwear and golden adornments - and Adidas sneakers peeking out from underneath.

Razer Blade 16 (2024) Review: A Beautiful Laptop Let Down by Inconsistent Performance

The Razer Blade 16 is a big laptop in size and capability, though it also comes with some compromises. However, Razer frames its Blade laptops, and they cater to gamers first, a subset of consumers notoriously fickle about performance. Creators aren't far behind with their demanding needs, which Razer knows. They've told me, "We believe gamers are creators, and creators are gamers."

Don’t Let the Canon R1 Situation Distract You: The R5 II is Pretty Great

It's easy to think that the Canon EOS R1 is the main attraction of Canon's announcements this week. The company made a development announcement for it and it's been heavily teased. However, while relegated a bit to the shadows, the Canon EOS R5 Mark II is the more interesting and exciting of the two new Canon cameras.

Awesome 3D-Printed Accessories for Upgrading Your GoPro Camera

3D printers open up entire new vistas of creativity for photographers. Whether you’re into cosplay and creating costumes and props for your portraits or looking to achieve original shots using intricate rigging and mounting setups that are entirely bespoke to your use case, the ability to take a spool of plastic fiber and turn it into a complex and durable part using an appliance that can fit on a benchtop is, in my opinion, one of the most exciting advancements in the at-home maker movement in years.

A Two-Week Bike Expedition in Kyrgyzstan with the Canon R5 Mark II

My history with the Canon mirrorless series started in late 2018 with the launch of the EOS R. Since then, I have switched from the EF to the RF mount, and for the past four years, I have worked intensively with two EOS R5 cameras. They have been loyal companions during my projects, and I have completed hundreds of photo and video shoots with them. When I became aware that Canon was launching a successor, I couldn't wait to get my hands on a sample.
