SmallRig is having an exclusive, limited-time camera cage color customization event next week. The first 100 customers can purchase a camera cage in one of nine Pantone metal colors.

Lucky (and fast) customers can choose from 16 different camera cages, including grips and full cages for various Blackmagic, Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Panasonic, and Sony cameras. Once they have picked the right cage for their camera system and workflow requirements, they can customize it with one of nine popular Pantone metallic colors. The available choices include blue, purple, pink, silver, gray, gold, green, orange, and red.

“SmallRig is excited to announce a special limited-time custom color event!” the company exclaims on a dedicated SmallRig Cage Color Customization Event webpage. “Many content creators have already personalized their camera cages through the DreamRig project, and now it’s your turn.”

The DreamRig project that SmallRig mentions is a co-design program SmallRig started in 2017 to provide creators around the world with a chance to customize their SmallRig equipment. Since then, SmallRig has co-designed over 2,900 customized DreamRig products for more than 1,400 photographers and videographers. Some of these projects have ultimately become mass-produced.

Anybody can contact the DreamRig team to try to get customized gear in the works, but there are hoops to jump through. In contrast, the new colorful camera cage event is very straightforward. There is no need to submit drawings or a project overview. SmallRig and DreamRig created this new camera cage event in response to many people asking the team for customized gear.

There will be no additional fee or cost for the colorful cages. However, as mentioned, the promotion is limited to just 100 customized camera cages, and it is “first come, first served.”

“Don’t miss this opportunity to own a one-of-a-kind camera cage,” says SmallRig.

Starting on August 15 at 0:00 GMT (8 PM ET on August 14), users can go to this page, pick out their desired camera cage, and then note the specific color they want in the “any extra info” box on the order page. The available camera cages range from $50 to $100. SmallRig says that only the first 100 custom color orders will be accepted.
