The well-regarded Olympus TG-4 is being replaced by a more powerful model—say hello to the TG-5. Olympus' latest 'tough' camera packs a better sensor, better processor, and 4K video capability into a rough and tumble shell that is waterproof, crushproof, shockproof, freezeproof, and dustproof.
It seems Olympus will soon take its 'Tough' series of point-and-shoots in a new direction. A leaked product photo gives us a first look at what many suspect will be the company's first "Tough" action camera.
Beaches, babes, sun and surf. It's summer, and that equals one thing: you can't take your precious DSLR to the beach. Well, not unless you want to gamble on a costly repair bill after butterfingers drops it in the sand. The beach is a time for relaxation, not being an overly protective nanny of the expensive camera that mom won't let you get wet.

It's February, which means Ricoh is right on schedule when it comes to introducing the new 'rugged' cameras in the Pentax WG line... except they're not called Pentax anymore. For the first time since acquiring the brand, Ricoh has dropped the Pentax name from these cameras entirely by introducing the updated Ricoh WG-4, WG-4 GPS and WG-20.
The E-M10 wasn't the only announcement to come out of Olympus tonight. Also arriving (and also noteworthy) is the longest superzoom Olympus has ever made, and a new, tougher tough camera -- both of which have some world's first features to their name.
It's usually a bit anti-climactic when a company unveils a product that was all but completely leaked beforehand, but the new Olympus TG-1 iHS is still a very exciting addition to the rugged camera market. In the end it's about quality, and on that front Olympus are delivering in big ways, prompting some to say that the TG-1 is probably the best rugged camera on the market.
