The Viltrox 26mm f/2.8 EVO is a remarkably compact and lightweight prime that delivers impressive center sharpness and contrast for everyday carry. This lens is incredibly light and while it isn't perfect, anyone will immediately notice the ease with which you can carry it, and that's a worthwhile tradeoff.

Viltrox is certainly releasing a lot of lenses, and the quality of their lenses keeps improving. The AF 26mm F2.8 EVO is a solid and well-performing lenses that offer very good value for money, but it’s not without its faults.

It's not Viltrox's smallest lens, but the AF 26mm F2.8 EVO is a truly feature-packed pancake optic, with aperture and focus dials, premium design and a clever magnetic lens cap that all other manufactures should take inspiration from.

The 26 f2.8 is definitely not perfect, but it's a pancake. This is as good a tiny lens you'll get for Sony.

What’s odd about the Viltrox 26mm EVO is actually nothing to do with the lens as such, instead it’s a branding issue.

[T]his lens exceeds the expectations of what a pancake lens would deliver and is definitely worth considering for someone who wants an additional low-key Viltrox 26mm f/2.8 EVO prime for any particular use.

When it comes to the overall sense of evil lenses, this is precisely the kind of evil lens that I wasn't expecting, but I am actually very glad exists.

If you're looking for a lens that can be absolute joy to shoot with, fun to shoot with, and it delivers decent looking images, I wouldn't go anywhere else. This is the best pancake lens I have tried in a long time and I highly recommend it.
