Reviewer Consensus

Strong

The Sigma FP2 is a remarkably compact full-frame mirrorless camera that significantly improves upon its predecessors with a faster partially-stacked sensor and a tilting screen. While its unique, modular design and lack of in-body stabilization may present challenges for some, it delivers excellent image quality and capable performance for those within its niche.

What the Reviewers Say

All 8 expert reviews, weighted into the PixelMeter score.

  • PetaPixel 7/10

Sigma has some very odd design choices and awkward workarounds to make this camera functional. However, the image quality and focusing performance are excellent. It's fast, capable, and certainly a true hybrid camera.

I have to say, I wasn’t a huge fan of the original Sigma fp or its high-resolution sibling, the fp L. [...] But now the Sigma FP2 fixes a lot of this, thanks to its faster partially-stacked sensor and tilting screen.

This is a much better camera than before, and it's a little bit amazing to see Sigma squeezing so much in to such a tiny body. For those within its niche, the Sigma FP2 could make itself quite useful.

The FP2 is a camera I really want to love, and in many ways, I do. However, it's also a camera that asks you to make quite a few compromises in pursuit of something that few other cameras offer.

The Sigma FP2 to me feels like the full realization of an idea for a camera that Sigma has been circling around for a very long time.
