Broncolor Announces the Litepipe P, an Ultra-Portable Light Shaper

Pro lighting system maker Broncolor has unveiled the Litepipe P, which the company touts as a “real innovation in the market.” The Litepipe P consists of just 5 components and is a lightweight light shaper that can be mounted and ready for use in just 60 seconds with no tools required.

Described as “robust and high quality,” Broncolor says that it’s made for “reliable use over a period of many years.” The light uses the Broncolor bayonet and is compatible with a number of Broncolor lamps, including the Pulso G, Unlite, Litos, and MobiLED. It will also work with its Siros Monolight unit.

The Litepipe P produces a homogenous light and combines the benefits of various light shapers into one design. This, Broncolor says, provides “nearly no limits for your photographic creativity.”

Without a counter-reflector, it provides a natural ambient light, but its integrated Velcro fasteners mean you can quickly change and adapt the light by using the two supplied reflectors. There are both wide (27 cm) and small (19 cm) counter-reflectors included, allowing you to set precise light edges and adapt the output of the Litepipe.

Here’s a short 6-minute video about the light, showing it being used on a shoot in a tight space:

Thanks to its “long construction,” the light doesn’t require a boom stand or ceiling mount. In defined spaces or areas with deep ceilings, the Litepipe P can be more practical than bulkier softboxes.

It’s also compact in design and can be packed down to half its operating size. Weighing only 1.7 kg (3.8 lbs), it can be kept in a handy transport bag that brings the total weight to 3.5 kg (7.7 lbs).

The Litepipe P is available to order from local distributors for about $1,000. More information can be found on the Broncolor website.
