Fujifilm’s New XF 50mm f/2 R WR is a Durable Travel Lens

Fujifilm today announced its new Fujinon XF 50mm f/2 R WR lens, a durable, weatherproof lens that’s designed to be “perfect for any type of travel photography.”

On the APS-C X-Mount, the lens is the 35mm equivalent of a 76mm lens.

The new XF 50mm f/2 features 9 elements (including an aspherical ED lens) in 7 groups and an internal focusing system powered by a fast and quiet stepping motor.

On the outside of the metal and glass lens are 10 weather and dust-resistant sealing points, and the lens can be used at temperatures as cold as 14°F\-10°C.

Other features and specs include a physical aperture ring with click stops, special coating that reduces lens flare and ghosting, and a weight of just 200g (~7oz).

The Fujifilm XF 50mm f/2 R WR will be available in black and silver starting in February 2017 for $450.
