Adobe Released the Weirdest NSFW-ish Promo for Its Latest Update

Well… this is awkward. No seriously, this is REALLY awkward. In addition to the usual feature promos Adobe releases when Photoshop is updated, Adobe also released a NSFW-ish sex-hotline spoof called 1-900-U-UPDATE.com this morning.

You hear that? That’s the sound of the entire reading audience of PetaPixel going “huh!?” But we’re not kidding. The 1-900-U-UPDATE.com video and website look like something straight out of 90’s late-night television.

A “steamy” soundtrack accompanies “sexy” descriptions of the latest Photoshop features, and though there’s nothing inherently NSFW about the content, you can’t help but feel seedy watching it. Put it this way: it is 100% SFW, but if your boss walked up behind you while you were watching the video or visiting the website… you’d switch to another tab and hit the mute button in a hurry.

And the video description isn’t much better:

We’ve got a confession… there’s a HOT new version of Photoshop that’s been waiting for you to give it a try. So don’t wait any longer… UPDATE today to make your wildest creative dreams come true.

Points for originality, maybe? To see it for yourself, check out the video up top or visit the website by clicking here. Just make sure your boss is a safe distance away.

Update: It appears that Adobe has completely taken down the video and the website, so this weird promo stunt only lasted for about a day.
