Human Light Suit: A One Man Band style Mobile Photo Studio lightsuit mini

Photographer Eric Schwabel was trying to think of a creative way to photograph the people at Burning Man, and ended up making a portable photo studio called the “Human Light Suit” for lighting portraits in the desert. It’s like the photography version of a one-man band!

    I thought about doing something like this… it’s an awesome idea. I wonder if because it’s almost overkill it would help let people’s guards down on the street. Pretty sure everyone at Burning Man already has their guard down!

     He may look ridiculous, but he looks par-for-the-course at the Burn…  He probably got much more acceptance shooting there with this than if he had a regular rig.

    I have to be honest, I’ve not heard of burn before, so I don’t know what the ‘norm’ is at the event, but as I said, the rig does look ridiculous but the results are stunning. Good on him for being willing togo out of his way to ensure all his pictures came out exactly how he would have liked.

    Andrew, the Burn is the event – “Burning man”.  Do a google image search for Burning man and you will see of what I speak… its a lot of creative wonderfulness (albeit it has grown far too big nowadays..)

    I also like his Video with all Burning Man Portraits of 2011 on STYLONS…it’s just fantastic, how he figured out to make those wonderfull photos at this dusty and hot place….lovit!
