Shoot Pro Portraits on Sidewalks with the Inflatable Photo Studio

Meet the Inflatable Photo Studio (IPS), a giant plastic bag that inflates in 3 minutes to provide you with a super-portable temporary photo studio. This might be an elaborate, outdated April Fools joke, but the website looks somewhat legitimate, and there’s even a video demonstrating the thing in action.

If in fact the IPS is real, you can purchase a large one (with fan included) for $500, or a small one for $400.

This is a joke…even if it’s not intended to be.

The slightest breeze will cause it to squish and flow, and topple any gear inside.
With a good breeze, you’ve got yourself in a giant Hefty bag flapping down the street.

To make this work at all, you’d need some sort of frame supports (like at least long aluminum tent poles) and pegged guy wires.

You’d also need lots of permits to set up on public property like a sidewalk. Emergency services were delayed in reaching the man because someone had set up a giant gas bag on the sidewalk…charges are pending.

But that begs a different question….
When is there a demand for “location” studio photography?

Woulda been cooler if they made it out of translucent, white, ripstop nylon. Then it would’ve been the world’s biggest softbox for the world’s biggest light source.
