Godox's first camera – the C100 – has arrived, and it has a nicer build quality than I expected, especially for $45. It has multiple capture modes, makes a pleasant chime sound when turned on, and the icons that appear on the transparent panel are easy to see. Light Lens Lab shared an exciting, albeit short, update about its peel-apart film project on Instagram, showing that the new peel-apart film structure itself has reached in-camera testing. The company promises a new development update soon for the project that has been in the works for years. Google has released its first Pixel 11 teaser. The short video appears to show a circular, color-changing light next to the camera bar, which The Verge speculates has something to do with Google Gemini. Google says it will fully reveal the Pixel 11 on August 12, presumably putting an end to the mystery surrounding that new glowing orb.
Fujifilm took home 12 honors at the 2026 Red Dot awards gala, which took place last week, with the most notable going to the in-house designers of the GFX100RF: Takeo Hyodo and Takeharu Omata. The fixed-lens medium format camera was honored with the "Best of the Best 2026" award in the Product Design category. The full list of Fujifilm's 2026 wins can be seen on the Red Dot website and includes the Instax Mini Evo Cinema, the X-E5, and the X half.
The screenless Godox C100 camera that launched in China last month will be retailing for $45 when it arrives in the U.S. sometime before the end of July. Godox will also offer a $56 version that includes a pouch, lanyard, cable, and a 32GB micro SD card. It will take photos, videos, and can also be used as a simple light meter.
Last month, ProMaster, Sony, Canon, and Pictureline joined forces to support the Utah Wildlife Federation's conservation photography camp, Lessons Through the Lens: Kids for Conservation. The hands-on photo camp taught kids, aged 12-18, about the beauty of photography and how to use visual storytelling to celebrate and protect nature.
