- PetaPixel 9.5/10
This new Nikon lens seems to achieve an incredibly high level of optical performance throughout its focal range and has essentially no bad qualities. It’s versatile, fast focusing, and sharp, which is exactly what you want out of a professional lens.
-
It is well-sealed against the elements, and I used it in some harsh conditions – including rain, hail, and sub-zero temperatures – without any issues at all. [...] The Nikon Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S II handles very well, like a well-designed professional lens should.
-
For many wedding or portrait photographers, a good 24-70mm F2.8 is their “if I had just one lens” lens.
-
Nevertheless, it's still fantastic overall, and it comes recommended if you're a pro with some real money behind you.
-
The Nikkor Z 24-70 mm f/2.8 S II proved to be a lens that is sharper than its predecessor. It deals with vignetting and performance against bright light better, without these unpleasant moustache distortion.
-
Nikon got this just about right. The 24-70mm f/2.8 S is an impressive lens, and speaks to what they can do with the new, less restrictive lens mount.
-
Nikon continues to pursue a path of excellence, there is no doubt about that. The new lens is a further example of their high standards, and it is difficult to see how the level could meaningfully be improved upon, regardless of how much money might be spent.
-
All in all though, we have here a lens which is extremely satisfactory in use and does the job very efficiently.
-
Whichever way we look at these figures, with or without further correction in software, this is an exceptional performance throughout. It bodes well for the Z series lens range if this is the standard we can expect throughout.
-
Nikon have taken their already excellent pro-level standard zoom lens and given it a major revamp, with almost every aspect of its design and performance surpassing the 7-year-old original.
-
The Mark II is not only significantly lighter in weight but boasts a barrage of new features and enhancements. It’s pricier to buy but its top-notch design, handling and performance make it well worth the asking price.
-
I definitely enjoy the photos this Nikon Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S II produces.
-
This expensive lens has superb optics, as all Nikon's f/2.8 zooms have always had, and its lighter weight is wonderful.
-
The Nikon Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S II is one of the most important zooms in the Z mount. The new model is lighter, faster, sharper and better balanced than the first generation, with comprehensive upgrades that make it better for both photography and video content creation.
