- DPReview 87/100
The Nikon D610 brings full-frame capabilities to a larger audience while retaining most enthusiast-friendly features.
-
[T]he Nikon D610 is a fantastic, budget-conscious, full-frame camera that’s packed with features and produces outstanding image quality.
-
The D610 shares all the attributes of its short-lived predecessor, it’s is a class act and a tough one to beat. So it will come as no surprise that it gets the Cameralabs Highly Recommended award.
-
As I have pointed out at the beginning of this review, the Nikon D610 is what the D600 should have been when it was initially launched.
-
The question people will want answered is whether the D610 suffers from the same dust or oil trait that befell the D600.
-
It’s just something you have to do at some point. If you’re even considering for a moment making the leap to full frame, just do it, and make this your choice.
-
Even without Nikon's "free lens" initiative the D600 was clearly a very good value in terms of the price/performance tradeoffs. Perhaps the best value so far.
-
The Nikon D610 performs extremely well with excellent image quality and a good weather sealed body.
-
Officially the Nikon D610 adds just 3 new features to the one-year-old D600 camera, none of which are going to compel D600 owners to rush out and upgrade.
-
The Nikon D610 is a great full-frame DSLR that’s a worthy successor to the Nikon D600.
-
The Nikon D610 is a very minor update to the D600; its burst rate is slightly faster, but otherwise it's the same camera.
-
Those looking for their first Nikon full-frame (FX) camera, however, will find that the D610 is a great choice.
-
Both the D600 and D610 are great, well-rounded bodies.
- Digital Trends 8/10
We really like the Nikon D610, as many of our photographs we shot were spectacular.
- CNET 8.2/10
As for the Canon EOS 6D versus Nikon D610 decision for people who haven’t committed to a system yet or are thinking of switching, overall I think I ultimately prefer the D610.
- Photo Review 88/100
Regardless of which camera you choose, the D610 and D600 are very good consumer cameras and if you’re a Nikon user who wants ‘full frame’ format at 24-megapixels, either one would represent a good buy.
-
[T]hat doesn’t stop this camera being a major success and the perfect footing in the world of full-frame.
-
There’s no denying the allure of a full-frame SLR. Noise levels are lower, details tend to be sharper and shallow depth-of-field effects are more pronounced.
-
The D610 is the D600 for all photographic purposes. Image-quality is identical with very slightly improved AWB and speed.
-
The Nikon D610 is Nikon's least expensive full-frame DSLR, and it's fantastic. [...] it's a top-shelf camera at a bottom-barrel giveaway price.
-
For anyone with a bag of Nikon lenses, a budget and a hankering for a full-frame camera this is the way to go.
-
Less than a year after the anticipated arrival of the D600, the Nikon D610 finally gets it right with no oil or dust problems.
-
[I]f you haven't owned the D600, you can actually skip that, don't go for money, this one actually is cheaper at places by the way, but by all means go for the D610 over the D600.
-
[...] I'd highly recommend the Nikon D610 for the price. I just don't think you can beat it.
-
Two thumbs up for the ISO performance considering this is just an entry level full-frame sensor camera.
