Ultimately, the 90D is a DSLR that operates best when used as if it were a mirrorless camera. It offers live view autofocus that’s competitive and easy to use, class-leading image quality, and video specs that’ll appeal to the masses, all in a familiar, DSLR package.

[T]he Canon 90D is still a fantastic camera at the end of the day. Sure it has a few drawbacks, but the camera is still capable of taking great photos, shooting pleasing high-res video, and has excellent AF and performance for all but the most demanding subjects.

The bottom line is that if I had to pick a single do-everything-well DSLR camera that does not cost a fortune, the 90D would now be my recommendation.

The Canon EOS 90D is a nice camera to use if you like the traditional styling and handling of a DSLR, while if you’re already equipped with a range of EF/EF-S lenses then it makes a lot of sense to make the 90D your next purchase.

There are irritations and limitations with any camera, and we can pick out a few with the EOS 90D – but this camera’s capabilities are so impressive and so all-encompassing, that you can’t expect miracles.

The Canon EOS 90D offers a new sensor with significantly more resolution than its predecessor, but competing mirrorless cameras have an edge in autofocus performance.

Without a doubt, the best feature of this camera is the autofocus. It just works great, even when compared to Panasonic’s brand new S1H.

Yeah there's nothing crazy to get excited about here, but with a 32 megapixel camera and you have great ergonomics, it's so easy to use and just it's lightning fast. It just kind of gives a recipe that's really easy to recommend.

With both fast bursts and high resolution, the Canon EOS 90D is one of the best crop sensor DSLRs on the market. It offers excellent speed, solid autofocus, and uncropped 4K wrapped in a comfortable body with stellar battery life.

  • The EOS 90D is ideal for photo enthusiasts who prefer the look and feel of a DSLR body and would rather use an optical viewfinder than an EVF.

At a glance Canon's latest enthusiast DSLR doesn't appear that different to the outgoing 80D. But with a large bump in resolution and burst shooting it's an altogether different beast.

Well built, reasonably fluid in use and festooned with plentiful control options, both in terms of physical buttons and its touch screen menus, the Canon EOS 90D is the very definition of a ‘comprehensive’ camera.

If you still want a camera with a classic optical finder, 90D is a great choice. And the way things are going, it might be one of the last enthusiast level crop sensor DSLRs.

Heck, there are more little things that I could mention to pad the length of this video, but back to the beginning, this is the best Canon camera for the online content creator ever made. It takes all of the problems from Canon's other cameras and makes it better.

I've been shooting with the GH5 for 3 years now and I love the quality, but just having this autofocus and this color as good as it is just out of the camera, yeah dude, it makes me consider not having 4K 60 or higher bit rates or all that stuff.

This is an absolutely perfect video camera for a youTube channel. If I didn't have the EOS R that that I'm actually filming on right now, I would still be using this camera for my YouTube videos over the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera that's sat on top of my shelf right now.

So on the whole do I recommend the Canon EOS 90D? I would say that if you're primarily a video shooter or you're looking for a really good hybrid DSLR that could shoot both stills and video then this is a pretty good deal.

This camera honestly is like a Swiss army knife, except that Swiss army knifes are usually pretty useless and everything, but this is like a Swiss army knife that can actually cut, so for that reason I highly recommend it.

I'd probably still buy the Canon EOS 90D over the 7D Mark II for most uses. I still think that's gonna be the better—this is gonna be the better way to go.

The Canon 90D is truly an impressive camera, and honestly if I had to I could replace my Canon EOS R or my Canon 5D Mark IV with the Canon EOS 90D.
