I Got to Test the New Canon EOS R5 for a Full Week Ahead of Release
I am a Canon Ambassador and I had the chance to test the new Canon EOS R5 (pre-production model) that we have all been anticipating for such a long time. This is not a review of the camera, but I wanted to share some of the most important settings and show you some real-life samples I was able to shoot that week.
As an action and sports photographer, my testing was mainly focussed on the capability of the EOS R5 as a photography camera to shoot fast action sports. I will review the video options at the end of the video.
Coming from the EOS 1D X Mark II, then later the 5D Mark IV, I made the switch to the mirrorless world two years ago when the EOS R was released. Mainly due to its size, weight and the RF mount, I quickly fell in love with the upsides of using a mirrorless system. Now, with the release of the R5, I have the performance of a 1D X Mark III (and then some) in a super compact body. For me and the work I do, the EOS R5 is simply the best camera ever built.
