BTS: Shooting a Subzero Time-Lapse at 10,000ft in the Swiss Alps

Timelapse photographer Drew Geraci recently headed up to the Gornergrat Observatory from Zermatt to shoot a time-lapse of the Toblerone Mountain: Matterhorn. In this 4 minute video, he shows how the shots were set up and the outcome of the project.

Packed in to their bags, weighing around 200 pounds, was all the equipment used for the shots: the Sony a7R II, a7S II, Canon Cinema Primes, Kessler Second Shooter and Cinedrive motion control systems, and Manfrotto tripods.

Geraci and his assistant Justin Majeczky took the highest open-air railway in Europe – the Gornergrat rack railway – to reach the 10,285ft peak. The time-lapse was part of a series for Redbull Media, titled “The Horn”.
