GoPro is the de facto action camera choice for many divers, but that might be changing very soon. Meet the Octospot: a 4K action camera designed by divers for divers that can go where no GoPro dares tread.

The Octospot is currently being funded (actually, it’s already fully funded…) through Kickstarter, and it’s not overstating to call it the ultimate action camera for divers.

It’s waterproof to a whopping 200m/656ft—that’s 5 times deeper than the GoPro Hero 4 Black can go, only without the need for an external case—automatically adjusts your white balance based on pressure, tracks (and overlays) dive data onto your video, and is built from the ground up to be used effortlessly at depth while wearing gloves.

See it in action in the Kickstarter video below:

This is one impressive action camera, and while you might think that the Octospot is a bit of a niche product, it’s already attracted a lot of attention from the action camera faithful. With 28 days to go, it’s already raised nearly $100K ($20K over their initial goal) through Kickstarter.

If you want to learn more about the camera or pick one up for yourself, click here. Expected retail price is $600 but there are still a ton of Early Bird pledge deals left that’ll get you an Octospot camera, mask mount, and universal mount for just $370. Estimated delivery is January of 2017.
