Dad Captures the ‘Little Moments’ in Heartwarming Photo-a-Day Project

Dublin-based family photographer Tomasz Laskowski set out to capture “ordinary” moments when he started his one photo a day project with his two kids. But there’s something extraordinary about the touching images he’s shared.

Starring his six-year-old daughter Suzie and three-year-old son Constantin, the Day in Life project simply chronicles their journey—one photo at a time, one day at a time. The photos show the duo doing everything from brushing their teeth, to jumping on the couch, to coloring. While that may seem mundane to some, Thomasz maintains that its these moments where the “magic” of life is hiding, waiting to be captured.

“I believe that the most significant days of our lives are disguised in routine and monotony,” explains Thomasz. “That there is magic in the mundane and beauty in the chaos if we are just willing to stop and recognize it.”

“Life is what’s happening here and now,” Thomasz recently told The Huffington Post. “When you take your kids to school and missed the bus, when they leave smudged fingerprints on the window. When they love each other for that split second before they start fighting again—this is what we should remember.”

No manicured snapshots or what’s become known colloquially as “lifestyle porn,” just normal life. Normal, messy, ordinary, extraordinary life.
