Beautiful Footage of the Prince of Dubai Silhouetted Against the Supermoon Atop the Burj Khalifa

Update: The video has been removed by FilmDubai who originally uploaded it, we’ll get it back up as soon as/if it is republished.

Admittedly, this is not photography, but there are so many frames that would be worthy of pulling out of this short real-time 4K visual treat that we thought it was certainly worthy of sharing.

Shot on July 12th, the video captures the supermoon rising up behind the spire of the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. And atop that spire is Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, who went up there to get a “closer look” at the beautiful moonrise.

Frankly, I get nervous just watching him up there (and knowing what the view looking down is like), but if you’re not prone to vicarious panic attacks, this should make for a beautiful 3-minute distraction from your work day.

Thanks for sending in the tip, Gerald!

DL is BFFs with the Prince, didn’t realize it was set to friends-only.

“Admittedly, this is not photography…”??? What is considered photography, then? Moving pictures are not “photography”? 14 FPS on a 1DX? This looks like great photography to me.
