Honestly, this is the first Sony camera in a long time that I would personally consider buying.

If I were buying an M camera in 2025, actually it probably would be the EV1.
[I]t is definitely a worthy successor.
They're going for this because it is tiny and their imperative to have it as small and light as possible makes all of those compromises worthwhile.
There's a lot to like about this, but just not enough for me to personally love.
Overall on this one, I do think it's a really nicely balanced kit.
Okay folks, so admittedly this is just an initial hands-on. I have to say it's a bit of a little powerhouse, though.
Genuinely blown away by this lens. If they bring this out for Nikon mount, I'll be picking one up for myself.
If the interface, display, slightly slower speed, and lack of CFexpress Type B card don't bother you, then you can save yourself $2,000 and this is really a fantastic camera.
So yeah, I think if the focal length works for you, and only you are going to be able to answer that, then it's a fine option.
So look, I am blown away by the 300. I think it may be my favorite E-mount lens to date.
I am too, hyperbolic titles like this, but I really am blown away by this and I think it may be my favorite lens release in the past 12 months or so.
There is so much going right with this camera, and we're going to come back to this when I talk about the price.
It's not going to suit everyone, but Sony's market is so big that it's fine.
Personally, I think the IBIS is worth the increase in size and weight in the camera.
I really enjoy tuning with the new 100 megapixel back. I think if you have a 500 series body then it's an absolute no-brainer.
[T]his is going to be a really compelling option.
Ergonomically it's great, it's fast to focus, and I think it's perfect timing that they released the new flagship portrait lens alongside the new face detect firmware.
I have to say I'm really impressed with the image quality coming off this lens and the usability. It handles really well.
So yeah, I think it's fair to say in the sub two thousand dollar hybrid camera, without too much hyperbole, this is the best one that you can possibly consider, and you're in the L Mount so you do have the bigger variety of glass out there.
I do like it, but I think for most people this is going to be a fantastic option.
Definitely the best R camera to date.
I think the build, the image quality, everything about it is right where it should be and between very good and excellent for the price. I think it's an excellent lens.
I really think for the target that they're aiming for, this is pretty great and they're kind of nailing it.
