- PetaPixel 9/10
The G series lens is much less expensive than its more illustrious G Master compatriots and delivers excellent optical performance.
-
[T]his is a terrific lens with very few shortcomings, and it's especially impressive when you consider how small and compact it is.
- OpticalLimits 7.5/10
The Sony FE 16-25mm f/2.8 G delivers a consistently high performance throughout its zoom range - which is still fairly unusual in this lens class.
-
It’s relatively small and light for a large-aperture full-frame wideangle zoom, has a comprehensive set of controls, and is weather-sealed for outdoor shooting. Most importantly, it delivers consistently excellent image quality.
-
The Sony FE 16-25mm F2.8 G Lens is a compact, ultralight, affordable, wide-aperture, full-frame, ultra-wide-angle lens that is ideal for general-purpose use. This lens's best feature is its outstanding image quality.
-
[...] I liked the Sony G 16-25mm f/2.8 lens very much. The zoom range is a bit limited, but the main thing is that you're getting as wide as 16 with a decently bright aperture and a well-made compact lens with sharp image quality.
-
[...] I think if you're someone that wants a travel lens, something to shoot wider angle perspectives landscapes, cityscapes, interiors, vlogging, I think this is a really solid option.
-
If you're prepared to trade some telephoto reach in exchange for a fast F2.8 aperture in a compact and lightweight design and you don't mind the amount of in-camera processing, then the new FE 16-25mm F2.8 G (SEL2450G) is worth considering.
-
The Sony FE 16-25mm f/2.8 G is a little lens that delivers a big punch. Sharpness is very impressive and there’s only minimal color fringing, although there’s an increasingly typical heavy reliance on in-camera correction for distortion.
-
If you can get past its meager zoom range, the well-built Sony FE 16-25mm F2.8 G lens rewards you with excellent low-light results at wide angles.
-
If you can get past that restricted focal range this lens is very good indeed.
-
I'm pretty blown away by the quality of this lens.
-
At $1,200, it is a little expensive, but the hardware, speed, and corner sharpness help justify that cost.
-
[T]he Sony FE 16-25mm f/2.8 G is a solid choice.
-
Currently the cheapest way to get into a Sony wide angle f2.8 zoom lens, the 16-25mm f/2.8 G is an excellent option for photographers who want a fast aperture but don't need all the bells and whistles of the higher end glass.
-
This is an excellent lens if you want to get those wide shots, and at the same time, you can zoom in and still take great portraits at 25mm.
-
Standing in the same spot, so I'll start on the wide end at 16 I'm going to do that one more time, but this time I'm going to move around so I fill the frame and every photo looks the same, so we'll start off on the wide end again at 16 If you're after a versatile lens for [...]
-
[T]his lens gives you that.
-
[...] I'm a big fan of this lens, and I'm going to purchase one of these cuz I have to return it tomorrow, and this will probably live on my camera whenever I'm shooting this kind of content, and just be an easy lens that I can always take with me.
-
If you don't have the money to buy the G Master lenses that cost a lot of money, then I definitely think that this one, the Sony FE 16-25mm f/2.8 G, is a great option for you if you are currently looking for a compact wide-angle zoom lens.
-
I think this could be a really great lens for that use case.
-
The newest Sony wide angle lens is a thoughtful addition to a comprehensive range, which adds a relatively affordable zoom for stills and video content creation.
-
In my opinion, the extra couple hundred compared to the Tamron or the Sigma would be well spent for the breathing compensation alone, but also for the fact that Sony glass just works the best on Sony cameras.
-
I'll summarize it this way: this is a near perfect lens and a good value as well, especially compared to that $2,300 G Master II.
-
[T]his 16 to 25 makes a ton of sense, and I would highly recommend checking it out.
