  • DPReview 80/100

[T]he EOS 6D II is a better camera than its predecessor in almost every way. [...] Despite this, it is simply overshadowed by competition that is made up of more capable cameras at similar or lower prices.

  • Imaging Resource

In many ways, the 6D II is a very good full-frame camera. In other respects, it’s a disappointment because it doesn’t take as many strides forward as you would expect for a camera released roughly five years after its predecessor.

Keeping a review of the incredibly-feature-laden 6D Mark II concise but complete is a difficult balance to find and this review is not a complete description of every 6D Mark II feature available.

So as I ask myself who the Canon EOS 6D Mark II is for, I guess I can't help but feel a little bit of disappointment. It just seems like a lot more of the same from Canon.

  • PCMag

The Canon EOS 6D Mark II improves upon its predecessor with 26-megapixel resolution, improved Live View focus, and a 45-point autofocus system, but its sensor isn't as good as competing models.

Canon has certainly made the EOS 6D Mark II a more well-rounded and better specified camera than the EOS 6D, but it's not without its issues.

  • Tom's Guide

The Canon EOS 6D Mark II is an all-around solid performer -- from image quality to AF speed and accuracy. A full complement of features and an easy-to-use mobile app for remote shooting and image transfer make this an appealing camera, particularly at its $1,299 price.

  • There’s every reason to believe its successor will be equally popular, with the improved AF system, faster burst shooting with a larger buffer capacity, an updated image processor and a touch-sensitive vari-angle monitor making it competitive in the current market.

We find its new sensor to be just about the perfect balance of resolution, while the vari-angle touchscreen is a huge benefit that lacks from so many other similar cameras.

  • Tech Through The Lens

To be honest, I kind of think this camera is outdated unless you specifically need this body style and a full frame, in which case $1,399 in a DSLR body with this full-frame sensor, this is probably the best deal you can get.
