Godox’s New AD600 Pro II All-in-One Strobe Is Faster and More Versatile

Godox has announced the AD600 Pro II, the successor to its extremely popular AD600 and AD600 Pro wireless outdoor strobe lights.

The new AD600 Pro II includes a one-tap sync with Godox’s X3 trigger, ensuring straightforward synchronization between multiple devices in the field.

“The new One-Tap Sync function on the AD600 Pro II ensures instant synchronization with X3 Flash Trigger. No more tedious Channels and ID switching, just tap the wireless sync on the X3 and choose the sync icon on the AD600ProII, they’ll synchronize wirelessly within a mere second, and immerse you into creative workflow right away,” Godox promises.

Like its predecessors, the new light works with several TTL flash and camera systems, including Canon, Fujifilm, Leica, Nikon, OM System (and Olympus), Panasonic, Pentax, and Sony.

There are other similarities between the new “mark II” and the original AD600 Pro, including 600Ws power and fast recycling times (0.01 to 0.9 seconds).

A woman in a long, flowing, white dress sits meditatively on rocks by the sea, with a serene, deep blue sky and calm ocean waves in the background, creating a tranquil and ethereal atmosphere.

There are upgrades, though, including better flash duration performance. The new light offers flash durations from 1/220s to 1/11,760s, and its power is adjustable from full power (1/1) to 1/512. This 10-step power output control is expanded over its predecessor, too.

Thanks to its swift flash durations, the AD600 Pro II is compatible with high-speed sync up to 1/8,000s. There’s also a separate Freeze Mode that offers an even shorter flash duration of 1/20,400s.

Another improvement is a broader range of group options and an improved on-flash LCD. The color panel shows all 16 of the AD600 Pro II’s groups in unique colors, making it easier to coordinate complex multi-light setups. The display also promises better readability in bright lighting conditions.

Godox says it has made further usability improvements, including the modeling light. The new modeling light is a 40-watt bi-color continuous LED. Although the AD600 Pro II is clearly positioned for photographers, Godox says this new modeling light is color-accurate and bright enough to act as a continuous light source for video applications. The company says the modeling light can also be used as a supplemental fill light or to add a bit of warmth to a shot.

The AD600 Pro II is compatible with a wide range of Bowens mount accessories, including beauty dishes, reflectors, softboxes, and more. It also works alongside an optional H600P extension head, which provides up to two meters of extension to reposition the flash head, which the company says makes it easier to hang or mount overhead in studio environments.

The flash can be powered by a detachable battery, USB-C, AC, or DC. The Godox UC46 USB charger is specifically designed for the AD600 Pro II, 400 Pro, and 600 series lights and charges via wall outlet or USB. The charger adjusts to each specific light, ensuring that no cells overcharge. It also has an LCD monitor to monitor battery level.
