The Winners of the Black and White Photo Awards 2023
The Black and White Photo Awards celebrate some of the world’s best monochromatic photography. A dynamic portrait of a primate with incredible personality and texture headlines the winners of the 2023 edition.

“Suddenly and for a brief moment, he turned towards me, looked at me intensely and I understood the full force of his dominance over his troops. It was an unforgettable moment for me, exactly what I was looking to bring out through a photograph,” Quillard explains.
Alongside the title of “Black and White Photographer of the Year,” Quillard also received a €1,000 cash prize.
In addition to the “Absolute Winner” prize, the Black and White Photo Awards also named Ágnes Dudás the winner of the Special Prize for Creativity award for his photo, “Painted Portrait.”
Winners were also named across multiple categories. The top five images for each of the categories are featured below.
