Fylm.ai is a Browser-Based Color Grading Platform for Stills and Video

The founder of lutify.me has launched fylm.ai, a modern AI-powered and browser-based approach to motion and stills color grading that helps users easily match and extract color, emulate print film, share and collaborate remotely, and more.

Color grading is an important aspect for any filmmaker and photographer when it comes to setting the mood for the audience and evoking emotions. To equip more creatives with the right tools, fylm.ai platform provides an extensive color grading toolkit that doesn’t expect its users to have years of experience in order to figure out.

Entirely based in a browser and without the need for any software downloads, fylm.ai utilizes ACEScct, which is a subset of Academy Color Encoding System (ACES). It is open color management and interchange system developed by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences and industry partners.

AI Color Extract tool allows users to extract and re-use any color grade with just a single click to create a 3D LUT from a supplied image. The process uses a deep learning neural networks model, which fylm.ai claims has been trained on millions of cinematic frames.

The Color Match tool allows users to match “everything and anything,” such as camera, shot to shot, and digital to film. This tool is all about freeing up time spent on tedious tasks so that it can be given to creativity, instead.

The Subtractive Color tool helps emulate the behavior of real film, such as by making darker colors more saturated, Print Film Emulations offer numerous choices made from real-life film scans, while the Magic Mode allows quick and easy color grading choices that can be applied in a matter of seconds.

All of these tools are not just for filmmakers. Photographers can also use the platform to create unique looks, emulate the processing of real film, and manipulate the final look. Once finished, the ACES color-managed looks can be exported directly as enhanced Adobe XMP profiles for use in Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, and Adobe Camera Raw.
