Lenovo Smart Frame is a $399 21.5in Digital Picture Frame of the Future

Lenovo has announced its new Smart Frame. It’s a 21.5-inch digital picture frame with high-tech features that help you display photos and other art beautifully on a wall.

“The all-new Lenovo Smart Frame is designed to unearth your favorite moments and rediscover that perfect shot of the sunrise you took on your travels many years ago,” Lenovo says.

The screen features a matte finish and an anti-glare layer that aims to trick viewers into thinking they’re looking at a physical artwork rather than a digital display.

There’s a built-in color tone sensor that adjusts the screen’s brightness based on the ambient light in the room, further providing a natural viewing experience at all times of day where you choose to mount it.

Navigating photos and videos on the frame (e.g. playing, continuing, or pausing) is done with a number of hand gestures.

And just like with the albums on many smartphones these days, the photo album on the Smart Frame uses an intelligent AI for curation — it selects the highest-quality photos from your album and can automatically turn them into digital collages that show you multiple artworks or memories at once.

After a simple wall mounting process using a snap-on system, the frame can be easily rotated 90-degrees to view photos in either portrait or landscape orientations.

The Lenovo Smart Frame will begin shipping in August 2020 with a price tag of $399, and it’ll be available in a range of frame materials and colors.
