Google announced its new in-house Pixel smartphone this week, boasting that it has “the best smartphone camera ever.” DxOMark agreed, giving the phone’s camera a record-breaking score of 89. If you’d like a taste of the camera’s quality, there are now sample photos showing how it performs in the real world.

Isaac Reynolds, Google’s camera product lead, has published a sample photo gallery on Google Photos. It’s titled, “#Nofilter needed with your new Pixel.”

“We talked a lot about Pixel’s camera at the launch earlier this week — we think it’s one of the best things about Pixel,” Reynolds writes on Google’s product forums. “But we know seeing is believing. So, while you wait for your new Pixel to arrive (soon!), we want to share our own favorite pictures taken on Pixel.”

Here’s a selection of sample photos shot in a number of environments and lighting situations with various camera settings.

You can find larger sets of higher-res Pixel sample photos in Reynolds’ album and on Phandroid. If you’d like to compare these photos with iPhone 7 sample photos side-by-side, we previously shared a gallery of those here.
