The recent release of the Fujifilm XPro3 camera coincided with me getting some recently re-released Fujifilm ACROS 100II film. Given my love of Fujifilm digital cameras, film photography, and ACROS film, I desperately wanted to shoot and compare the new XPro3 alongside a rangefinder film camera.

On my last shift at the film lab in Bondi, I picked up one of the last rolls of Fujifilm ACROS film. It seemed poignant -- as my job at the shop was finishing, so too was the production of this film stock.

Fujifilm killed off its beloved ACROS 100 black-and-white film last year and then surprised photographers earlier this year by announcing a reboot of the line. Now that return is nigh: NEOPAN 100 ACROS II will be landing on November 22nd in both 35mm and 120 formats.

I hear a lot of photographers slamming others for not shooting RAW. So I decided to go against that for a month and shoot JPEG only using Fujifilm's ACROS Film Simulation and share my results. Interestingly, I've found that I'm actually enjoying taking photographs more.
