- PetaPixel 6/10
The new Panasonic 28-200mm f/4-7.1 Macro OIS super zoom is clearly designed to be a jack-of-all-trades that doesn't really excel in any optical categories.

Panasonic’s Lumix S 28-200mm F4-7.1 Macro OIS is a lens that I’ve enjoyed using, thanks to its broad zoom range and compact size. It’s light enough to carry around all day and capable of delivering very decent images.
-
The quality of this 28-200mm lens is extraordinarily high; it focuses as close as a 1:2 macro lens, albeit at 28mm for maximum magnification, all with excellent sharpness.
-
The new Lumix S 28-200 mm F4-7.1 MACRO O.I.S. is the king of convenience - this is a compellingly small, light yet incredibly versatile lens that is perfect for vacations and holidays.

It's really hard not to like this lens.
-
Just like the recent Lumix S 100mm macro lens, this new 28-200mm lens redefined what an all-in-one lens could be.
-
So this is extremely versatile. I don't really have any complaints with this, other than the zoom ring feels a little bit stiff when you first take it out of the box.
-
I am delighted with this new purchase. The Lumix 28-200mm zoom aligns perfectly with my photographic interests.

Holiday, travel, family photos, all of that this lens would be a dream for.

If you are a hybrid photo video creator and you need an allday walkaround lens, this is an incredible tool and I'm so happy that Panasonic made it because this is not a lens that exists for other systems.
-
The close-up performance is excellent, allowing 1:2 shooting at the wide-angle end. However, the working distance at this point is so short that you could almost touch the subject.
-
Yeah, it's so small, it's so light, it's so versatile, it's it's a great little lens.
-
I really like it, great everyday lens, recommended.
